The monthly time commitment for Board Members is on average 3-5 hours per month.
Open Leadership Roles:
SECRETARY- Maintains membership list.- Keeps minutes of all meetings.- Manages board meeting calendar.- Notifies Alumni Relations Office of results of club elections.- Submits annual report to Alumni Relations Office.
VICE PRESIDENT OF TECHNOLOGY- Becomes an expert in AlumniMagnet, Harvard’s Alumni Engagement Software (5 hour training required; coding experience a plus)- Maintains HLAA website including content updates and UX-optimization- Maintains member database and executes data pulls as needed.
SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER- Manages HLAA’s social media presence (Facebook and LinkedIn) with the goals of audience growth, increased engagement and improved reach.- Creates and publishes relevant, original, high-quality content that resonates with our audience, builds the HLAA brand and helps inform HLAA programming on a national and local level. Experience with Canva.com a plus.- Serves as Community Manager listening, responding and asking questions.
LAW SCHOOL REP- Keeps HLAA informed of HLS news and events of relevance to the Latino community so we can help promote to the broader Harvard Latino Community.- Liaises with La Alianza at Harvard Law School and the HLS Alumni Association.Implements strategies to identify existing and future HLS alumni and encourage them to become an HLAA member.
LOCAL CHAPTER LEADER (MULTIPLE)Leads programming and community building in a local geography with strategic, marketing and financial support from the HLAA National Board.
VOLUNTEERMay serve on a committee, work on an initiative and/or co-lead local events with support from the HLAA National Board.
