Google Tutorial 2: Staying Organized
Welcome! This tutorial builds on the library's first Google tutorial, which covers the basics of your GCC Google account. In this second unit, we'll look at three tools that you can use to keep yourself organized and meet with GCC staff, faculty, and other students:. Those three tools are Google Meet, Google Calendar, and Google Tasks

The tutorial has three main pages, one for each tool. Each page has a video introduction. At the end of each page, you'll be asked to complete a simple task using the tool we talked about on that page. If you're doing this tutorial as part of a class, you'll need to complete these tasks to get full credit.

Where to find these tools

Everyone does things differently!
There are as many ways to stay organized as there are people. Some people prefer a paper planner, some use the calendar built into their phones, and some leave themselves a million sticky notes. We're not here to tell you what to do. It doesn't matter what you do or what tools you use, as long as it works for you.

However, part of what you're doing in college is learning to manage your time, stay organized, and network with people to find opportunities. Having a system that helps you organize your time, your work, and your priorities is a critical part of that, and is a critical life skill.

You're not required to use any of the tools we'll talk about in this tutorial, but we encourage you to experiment with different ways to keep yourself organized, be productive, and use your time wisely. If these tools don't work for you, use this as an opportunity to think about how you can refine and improve the systems that you use to stay organized on a daily basis.
