MI ELISA test
This is the template. All questions are Multiple Choice. All are worth 1 pt. All are required, and the options (answers) are shuffled. If students enter in their emails, then you can release the scores to them but it won't automatically tell them their scores and which ones they got or missed.
What did our ELISA test check for?
White Blood Cell concentrations
Meningitis in the bloodstream
Meningitis in cerebrospinal fluid
Trick question, we didn't check for anything.
The first well has a 100% concentration of chemical. Wells 2-12 have 50uL of dilution buffer in them. When a serial dilution is made, what percent is well 4?
What was in the "standard curve", wells 1-12?
Solutions that we then transferred to wells 13-24
Samples from the 12 sick students we are testing
A serial dilution to help us determine concentration
3 antigens, 3 primary antibodies, 3 secondary antibodies, and 3 negative controls
What did we use to move the liquids into wells and between wells?
Eppendorf tube or Microtube
Micropipet or Micropipetor
The amazing untapped power of our imaginations
What was in the second set of wells (13-24)
A serial dilution going from dark blue to clear
3 positive controls, 3 negative controls, and samples from two patients
12 samples from 12 sick students
Tears of students
What did it mean when the directions said to incubate the wells at room temperature?
Place them in a nest and find a hen to sit on them.
Use the micropipettor to add Incubation Solution
Gently tilt the wells from side to side
Allow the reaction to continue; nothing is done to the wells.
Consistently mix the contents with a micropipettor
