The Solution Is Us: Stories About Guns
The Solution Is Us is hosting a community storytelling conversation on guns, in partnership with Share More Stories. During this session, we'll share our stories about our diverse experiences with guns.
The session takes place on Wednesday 8/14 from 6:00p to 8:30p in The Loft at the Hof Garden, 2818 West Broad Street in Richmond, Virginia.
We've developed two story prompts (and you're welcome to come up with your own):
1) What is your earliest memory of guns or a gun?
2) What is your most vivid memory of guns or a gun?
Whether your story is about your family's longstanding tradition of hunting and outdoor life, your passion for collecting passed on by your parent, the relationship you have with guns as a veteran, the trauma you've experienced as a victim of gun violence, or the reality of living with mass shooting drills at your children's school, when it comes to guns, we all have a story to tell. And our hope is that by sharing stories of individual experiences with guns we can begin to identify common ground that may exist around a topic that, today, seems highly polarized, and continue to shift both the dialogue and the narrative of guns.
If you'd like to join us and share your story, please sign up below. Space is limited to 30 participants.
