The only requirement for board service at Southern Dharma is a genuine desire to be of service.

Board members are expected to attend all meetings and serve on one or more committees. Additionally, members are encouraged to participate in our practice of Dana, or generosity, with the goal of achieving 100% board participation in giving.

We are committed to ensuring representation from individuals of diverse backgrounds and experiences. We strive for a balanced board in terms of race, gender, ethnicity, age, and practice tradition.

There are two ways to get involved with the SDRC Board of Directors:

1. Board Members are expected to attend several board meetings throughout the year, including a minimum of two in-person weekend meetings. Additionally, board members should serve on one or more committees, most of which meet monthly over Zoom.

2. Committee Volunteers are not board members but contribute their time and expertise to one or more committees. Committee volunteers play a vital role in specific areas and have the opportunity to become board members when new positions become available.
