Your child is invited back to STEAM! Join Berkshire Community College, IS183 Art School, Flying Deer Nature Center, and Jacob’s Pillow Dance to explore nature, science, art, dance, and more! Build on everything we learned about native birds last summer and explore the world of insects!

STEAM Team: INSECTS is free of charge and only open to rising 4th grade students returning for their second summer.
Spaces are limited and registrations are accepted on a first come, first served basis.
Breakfast, lunch, and transportation (from the Pittsfield YMCA) are provided.

TRANSPORTATION

Please select whether or not your child will be using bus transportation (It is very important that parents/guardians let us know in advance in writing if there are any changes to the transportation method selected and outlined in this form.) *

My child will be using bus transportation. The bus departs from/returns to the Pittsfield YMCA (292 North Street). Students taking the bus must be dropped off at 8:20am for departure promptly at 8:30am. The AM bus brings students to Berkshire Community College for breakfast beginning at 8:40am. The PM bus will pick students up at BCC at 4:30pm to bring them back to the YMCA where parents are required to meet their students for pickup at 4:40pm.

My child will NOT be using bus transportation. For those not taking the bus, children should be dropped off at BCC’s Paterson Field House (across from BCC) by 8:40am. Someone will be there to meet the children. Children must picked up from BCC’s Paterson Field House at 4:30pm.

If your child is NOT riding the bus, please write the name of the person(s) authorized to transport student to/from STEAM (if different than parent/guardian listed above). Important: Please include person(s) relationship to student AND their phone number:

What to bring to the Summer STEAM Team Program!

Throughout the program we will take nature walks, go swimming in the pool, and engage in environmental learning as we explore the outdoor landscape surrounding BCC.

-A backpack or tote bag
-Sneakers, comfortable shoes – no open toed shoes--Bathing suit
-Towel
-Sunscreen 30 or higher, lip balm, and any other sun protection deemed necessary. Please instruct your child as to the proper application and usage of these items.
-All personal items should be clearly labeled with your child’s name.This is very important if we are to return misplaced items to their owners. Berkshire Community College is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
-Jewelry, electronics, and other valuables should remain at home.
-Breakfast, lunch, and snack will be provided so students are not required to bring their own food.
