Thank you for taking the time to engage with an issue we feel threatens our home. Chain dollar stores have a history of harming rural communities by undermining local businesses, providing few jobs and terrible working conditions, and offering low quality products, all while funneling profits to already wealthy national corporations. For more information on this issue please read our zine "Dollar Store Danger"

We, the Quimper Resiliency Network, aim to strengthen local community interdependence and provide alternative systems of care to reduce reliance on corporations. 

While we are concerned about the implications of a chain dollar store opening in Port Hadlock, we recognize the real need for affordable goods. The dollar store is not a solution to a lack of affordability in this community. QRN strives to create opportunities to provide for each other locally, and will be working towards this goal ongoing.
