Please read the following details prior to submitting a proposal:
If accepted, you will be notified in November of 2019 and MLA's Conference Committee will assign a "shepherd" to be your primary contact from development to presentation day at conference.
Please enter all information as it would be indicated on printed materials. Use formal names and titles for speakers and include professional designations, if applicable, wherever possible. Please be prepared to give names, titles/organizations, and email addresses for speakers and moderators. Short bios for each are helpful but not required! You will be asked for a Program Title, Description, and format. There is a space for comments if you don't have all of this information settled just yet please let us know in that space.
Programs may have more than 3 speakers. MLA is only able to offer complimentary entry for up to 3 people per program.
On occasion, the committee receives multiple proposals on a topic and may seek to pair programs.
PLEASE NOTE: Employees of Massachusetts libraries are not eligible to receive honorariums or reimbursements for travel expenses. All other speakers may request payment however, since MLA is a non-profit organization, presenters are encouraged to volunteer their time if possible. Speakers will receive a complimentary one-day conference registration pass for the date of the presentation only. All honorariums and travel expenses must first be approved by Conference Committee Co-Chairs.
