Submission Deadline: Midnight (PST) April 13, 2013 Early submissions are welcome.
Eligibility: Open to Washington State artists. Artwork made within the last 4 years. All entries must be of original design and personal execution.
Media: All artwork must be substantially made of fiber or have strong fiber elements within it. Artwork will be in an outdoor setting exposed to the elements, so may be damaged over the course of the exhibition.
Submission Fee: $10 entry fee for each piece. Maximum 3 entries per artist. (please see payment information at end of form.)
Notification: Artists will be notified by Tuesday April 30 of acceptance.
Shipping/Delivery: Accepted works must arrive by 5 pm Friday May 10, 2013. Deliver or ship the work to Tieton and arrange for return shipping. Artists are responsible for all shipping costs, including insurance. Work must be shipped in a substantial, reusable container with a pre-printed, prepaid return shipping label or adequate postage. All containers and reusable packaging should be marked with artist’s name and title of artwork.
Installation: Each accepted entry must be installation-ready with appropriate hanging hardware and installation instructions. All artwork must be labeled with artist’s name and title of the work. Artists are encouraged to come to Tieton to install their artwork on Friday, May 24 or the morning on Sat May 25 for the opening on Saturday May 25 between noon and 5 pm. Should artist be unable to attend or install their own artwork, they agree to accept the best efforts to install their artwork… difficult or complex installations will not be possible without the artist’s participation or artist completely handling the installation.
Duration: Artwork to be on display starting Saturday May 25, 2013 and will be displayed no longer than Sunday July 14,2013. Artists understand that with the exposure to the elements (wind, sun, rain, etc.) and even possibly the public the artwork may or may not be subject to some or even major degradation or deterioration; TA&H and Exhibition Coordinator take no responsibility for wear and tear to artwork. Accepted may work out with Tieton Arts & Humanities the length of time that the artwork will be exhibited.
Opening Reception: Saturday May 25 noon – 5 pm. Potluck celebratory dinner for artists following reception.
Pick-up: Artwork must be picked up by Wednesday July 31, 2013. Shipped work will be returned during the two weeks following the close of the exhibition. TA&H and exhibition coordinator assume no responsibility for artwork left beyond July 31, 2013.
Photography: TA&H may photograph the work for reproduction in a catalogue and use images of submitted artwork to publicize and promote the exhibition.
Sales: All sales will be handled through TA&H. Artwork is not required to be for sale. A 30% commission will be charged. All pieces must remain up for the duration of the exhibition, as agreed upon by TA&H. Artist will be responsible for shipping sold artwork to the buyer.
Photos of Artwork for Entry: Entries should include one full and one detail shot of artwork in .jpg format, minimum 150 dpi and 1000 pixel minimum per length and width. Photos can be sent on disk, USB drive or by email/dropbox to firstname.lastname@example.org
