Please fill out this on-line form in order to be considered as a Saturday program tutor - a program tutor will be registered as a 3 credit directed study under the course EDUC 399. This application is due before the end of the add/drop period for registration.
Students meet weekly for seminar to discuss best practices and assessments to conduct 9 Saturday School tutoring and community service events. Tutors will participate in 36 contact hours of Saturday School in Rochester through teaching, mentoring, tutoring, and providing academic counseling to Rochester City students at the Rochester Central Library of Monroe Co. The Rochester Young Scholar Academy on Saturday is under the supervision of the Director for Multicultural Teacher Education and School of Education Teaching Assistant.
The program will be held on Saturday afternoons - a seminar and journal are integrated into the experience. Students will receive 3 credits after completing the program, but will also gain relevant experience, form great connections, and learn about working with students in the Rochester area.
