BWBC invites women of all ages to join us for our annual Women's Autumn Night on Saturday November 8th from 2:00 - 8:00p. This year's theme is "Belong: Finding Your Place in the Local Church". Do you or a loved one struggle to feel connected to the local church? Perhaps you're a seasoned saint faithfully serving in leadership or perhaps you have not set foot inside a church for fear that you'll be judged, or maybe you're just somewhere in between. You are invited to join us for an evening intended to showcase that the local church is the place where everyone who calls on the name of Jesus can call their home.
“Do you want to experience the fullness of Christ? Belong to the church. Use your gifts where he sets you. Exhort. Serve. Give. Show mercy. Work alongside his people for the common good. Then—in the unassuming surroundings of the fellowship hall or the church basement or the aisles between the pews—you will know firsthand the fullness of Christ. In fact, you cannot experience it in any other way.” -Megan Hill, A Place To Belong: Learning to Love the Local Church
Doors open at 1:30p for registration. Come early to get your craft latte and spend some time in community with other ladies before heading off to one of our fellowship workshops. Afterward, attend one of our formational workshops designed to help you go deeper in your prayer life. Back by popular demand will be our soup, salad, bread, and dessert bar for dinner! And yes, we got multi-section bowls, so you can have a soup flight!!
After dinner, we will gather together for worship and hear from our guest speaker, Ruthie Fletcher, as she shares encouragement from God's Word to help us learn to love the marvelous gift that God has given to us in the local church.
Ruthie had the privilege of growing up as a missionary kid in Nova Scotia, Canada where her parents directed a Bible camp for over 32 years. It was these foundational years that instilled in her an enjoyment of the outdoors, the benefits of hard work, the joy of teaching, and most importantly, a love for the Lord Jesus. The Lord has blessed Ruthie and her husband Matt with 35 years of marriage, 34 years of serving the Lord together in pastoral ministry, 5 children and 4 grandchildren. In addition to being a support to her husband, she has a heart for women’s ministry in the local church and enjoys mentoring younger women. Ruthie also enjoys walks with her husband and golden retriever Nova, time spent with grandkids, baking, crafting, and British television.
Fun, fellowship, door prizes, encouragement, hearty food for the body and soul-- and so much more!
This event is open to women outside of Big Woods Bible Church, so feel free to invite friends, family, and neighbors! If you are registering for additional guests, please fill the form out for each guest, so we have an accurate count for the workshops!
