Peer Support Specialist - (Ages 16-24)

BLOOM365 Peer Support Specialists (PSS) are young people aged 16 to 24 who have navigated the experience of interpersonal violence victimization and are ready to support others on their personal healing journey after experiencing or witnessing domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, cyber abuse and/or sex trafficking. 

As a Peer Support Specialist with our organization, you will be certified and trained to provided 1:1 peer support, deliver outreach education, as well as facilitate BLOOM365's Real Talk Peer Support Groups to young people between the ages of 11 and 24. 

The position is part time, up to 20 hours a month, and includes PSS training from MIKID that is certified by AHCCCS. This contracted service position is funded until December 31, 2024 and has the option for renewal in 2025 should funding continue.

This non-clinical, strengths-based position starts at $18/hour and includes ongoing supervision and trauma-informed training to reduce the impact of secondhand trauma.

- 200 hours (Average of 5 hours a week, over a 40 week program cycle)
- County and Statewide
Hybrid: Peer Support Services will be delivered in person (group homes, schools, at population specific collaborating organizations, etc.) and online.

Required Paid Training/Certification:
- MIKID Peer Support Specialist training and core competency test
- BLOOM365's 7-Dose Curriculum, L.E.V.E.L. Peer Response and Real Talk Peer Support Group Trainings.

Expectations/Requirements:
- Strong public speaking skills
- Comfortable and capable of delivering education, outreach and peer support services to peers, online and in person
- Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
- Skilled at providing empathetic and non-judgement support
- Current Arizona Level 1 fingerprint clearance card and clear background check
