Three cohorts of the Community Engagement Academy are held by the Metropolitan Police Department each year. Members of the Community Engagement Academy are provided over 28 hours of training regarding the policies, practices, and procedures of the Metropolitan Police Department, with the intention to provide participants with a personal view of the challenges officers are confronted with on a daily basis.
