Register for "Writing Your Teaching Philosophy" Workshop

A two-part workshop series for graduate students and postdocs at the University of South Carolina, where you will learn how to write a teaching philosophy statement, as well as receive helpful, constructive feedback from the Center for Teaching Excellence and Writing Center staff, and participate in one-on-one opportunities for discussion and brainstorming with peers.

For Workshop Part 1 (the document's purpose, best practices, construction, and outline), two dates are available:

Thursday, June 15, 12:00 - 1:30 p.m.
Friday, June 23, 3:00 - 4:30 p.m.

For Workshop Part 2 (open to those with a rough draft for review - Writing Center and CTE staff will be on hand to provide feedback, but we will not be repeating content from Workshop 1), one date is available:

Friday, July 7, 12:00 - 1:30 p.m.

You do not have to attend both Workshops 1 and 2, but if you do plan to attend the follow-up Workshop 2, please do register in advance and have a rough draft ready for review. One-on-one consultations are also available with the Writing Center and CTE staff by appointment, if you prefer this option.

PLEASE NOTE: Participation in these workshop is limited to the first 24 registrants. You will be notified within 48 hours whether you have been reserved a participant spot. All workshops will be held at the CTE in the Thomas Cooper Library Room L511, USC-Columbia Main Campus, 1322 Greene St., Columbia, SC 29208.
