Weems-Botts Museum Volunteer Application
Volunteer docents support the Museum by giving museum tours to the visiting public and assisting with special programs such as scout badges and school field trips. Thousands of visitors from local communities benefit from docent-led activities each year. We strive to offer all visitors an exciting and engaging experience that stimulates conversation and promotes an appreciation of local and national history.

Volunteers also help with "behind-the-scenes" activities. Volunteers can help maintain our gardens, research library, and collections as well as write articles for our newsletter and help develop new programs and exhibits. We also need help with office administration, gift shop operations, and development.

The Weems-Botts Museum relies on volunteers to operate in order to preserve and promote the history of Dumfries. If you are interested in joining our team and providing an indispensable service to our visitors, we welcome your application.
