Thank you for your interest in mentoring a group of MERIT Scholars this summer. This is an incredible meaningful part of their Health Innovation Internship!

The internship will take place over the course of 6 Weeks (6/28-8/6). Please expect to work with your group of 2-3 MERIT Scholars on zoom for 1-2 hours a week (timing flexible). You will also be provided with guidance on additional scholar activities that you can modify as needed to help the group be productive during their weekly independent work-time.

Organization Overview: Summarize the mission and day-to-day work of your organization. *

Project Focus

Mentors will identify a health care problem or community health need that if addressed will improve health care outcomes and promote health equity. This can be related to an active project or the mentor’s broader professional interests. Ultimately MERIT Scholars will produce a research poster as the culmination of their summer experience.

You can submit multiple project focus options. We will only match scholars to one project, unless you have indicated capacity for more than one group.

Potential project focus areas include: 1) Increasing the number of patients with well controlled diabetes, 2) Improving access to telehealth services in low-income communities, 3) Increasing COVID-19 vaccination rates in young adults, 4) Decreasing gun violence in 21217
