The Harvest PTA invites you to volunteer for one or more of the following school events that provide enrichment to your child's education. These are great opportunities to meet new people while helping the kids and the school. These are volunteer opportunities for all Harvest PTA activities throughout the school year. Notify Me For All PTA Activities
This is an ongoing activity. Volunteers are needed to help students in the cafeteria. Volunteers are needed ESPECIALLY during the first few weeks of school. If you are interested in volunteering, please go to the Harvest Elementary home page, Go to the Lunch Section, and click on Volunteer. A google doc will open. Please sign up for as many days as you would like. On your volunteer day, please sign in with the office, collect a visitors sticker and head to the lunch room. Students typically need assistance with opening milk cartons, yogurt tubes, passing out "sporks", napkins, etc.
OPEN HOUSE BOOK FAIR: Wednesday, August 30, 2017, Time: 4:30 - 7pm , LOCATION: Gym, Coordinators: Angie Clark & Dawn Whitford
Volunteers set up/tear down book fair, float in the book fair room and help run the cash registers.
FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT: Friday, September 15, 2017 at 6:30pm, Location: Harvest Gym, Coordinator: Barb Gutowski
Volunteers will help set up and tear down and assist in serving concessions. Students will vote on the movie throughout the first week of school
HARVEST FUN RUN Fundraiser: Friday, September 22, 2017 Coordinator: Angie Clark, This is Harvest's biggest and main fundraiser of the school year!
Coordinator Plans event. Volunteers assist with event. Sign-ups will be organized by grade level.
PICTURE DAY: September 14, 2017 ; Picture Retake Day TBD: Coordinator: Rhonda McGivney
Volunteers assist in lining up kids and marking their picture forms accordingly.
GRANDPARENT'S DAY - Kindergarten Only. October 19, 2017. Coordinator: Mandy Tousa
Coordinator sets up preparation for event, organizes the greeting of kindergarten guests. Volunteers distribute name tags and assist as needed.

Volunteers assist: Bring food, decorate/set-up, tear down, floor runner, etc
PAJAMA NIGHT & PIZZA NIGHT: Thursday, December 7, 2017 Coordinator: Needed
Coordinator organizes an evening of guest readers during the book fair kick-off night. Volunteers help with greeting children outside of each guest reader's room and assist as needed in other areas.
FALL CONFERENCE DINNERS: November 29 - 30, 2017, Coordinator- Needed
Coordinator organizes food (soup/salad/bread/dessert) teachers and staff during conferences. Volunteers supply food, desserts, and beverages to teachers the day/night of parent/teacher conferences. They also assist with set-up and clean-up.
MATH NIGHT & Pizza Night: January 18, 2018 TIME: 6:00 - 8PM, Coordinator: Needed
Coordinator plans event based on the Every Day Math Program (Night Simply Consists of Fun Math Games at each table). List of games and the supplies needed ARE already available. Volunteers assist at the event by running one of the math games
SCIENCE FAIR: February 21, 2018 TIME: 6:30PM Coordinators: Barb Gutowski & Faith Hart
Volunteers set up/tear down tables; We need volunteers to help walk around and ask students about their projects.
HARVEST SCHOOL BOOK FAIRS: Various dates throughout the school year TIME: 3 - 7:30PM Coordinators: Angie Clark & Dawn Whitford
Coordinator organizes book fair with help from Scholastic representative as well as coordinates and schedules volunteers. Volunteers set up/tear down book fair, float in the book fair room and help run the cash registers. Multiple book fairs throughout the school year. You will be notified in advance of the dates. Feel free to sign up for a date that is convenient to you.
PANCAKE SUPPER: March 8, 2018 (It will be the same night as Spring book fair) Coordinator: Needed
Coordinator helps plan event with King Pancake, makes signs, and organizes volunteers. Volunteers assist with greeting guests, helping at the tables and being friendly.
Spring Conference Dinners: March 15, 2018, Coordinator: Needed
Coordinator organizes potluck food for teachers and staff during conferences. Volunteers supply food, desserts, and beverages to teachers the day/night of parent/teacher conferences. They also assist with set-up and clean-up.
TEACHER/STAFF APPRECIATION WEEK: May 7 - 11, 2018 (Monday - Friday), Coordinator: PTA BOARD
Coordinator organizes appreciation events for coordinates with room parents. Volunteers assist by providing food, thank you gifts, etc.
FIELD DAY: Friday, May 25, 2018. Coordinator: Mike Glennie
Volunteer assists PE teacher with the planning of the event and assist with necessary duties including set-up/clean-up, helping at stations on the field, distributing ribbons/snacks, etc.
YEAR BOOK (ongoing). Coordinator: Rhonda McGivney
Volunteers help to take pictures during school events (Fun Run, Movie Night, Halloween Bingo, Holiday Parties, etc.) and in classrooms throughout school year; also submitting pictures to yearbook coordinator
BOX TOPS (ongoing), Coordinator: Room Parents for each classroom
Coordinator organizes collection and redemption of box top labels, works with teachers/staff to order items, and places updates on the website. Volunteers assist in trimming and counting labels on a periodic basis.
LIBRARY VOLUNTEERS (ongoing), Coordinator: Amanda Sturms
Coordinator sends out Google doc to list of volunteers (provided) for them to sign up to help in school library as needed. Volunteers help in reshelving books when their own schedule allows. Very flexible and independent volunteer opportunity!
LOST AND FOUND (ongoing), Coordinator: Eva Carpenter
Volunteers assist with maintenance of lost and found box 2-3 times a year to help layout items during conference
