Applying for a grant to fund activity opposing Arms Fairs across the UK
Campaign Against Arms Trade (CAAT) has set aside some money, in the form of our new STAFs (Stop the Arms Fairs) Fund, for small grants to support groups of activists to take action against arms fairs taking place across the UK in 2022 online and in-person.

Typical grants might be to cover travel costs, accommodation, accessibility, printing resources, or buying equipment or materials for a more creative protest.

Please be aware that CAAT cannot make grants for plans to break the law nor any activities or groups wishing to work with the police, however we do encourage you to be as creative as possible in your protests against UK arms fairs. (Please also remember that the internet is not a secure communication channel for activist organising.)

We will be giving out small grants ranging from £150 to £500 depending on the needs of groups and individuals.

Please be aware will need to measure the impact the funding has had for those who have received it and on the wider movement so we will be in touch with recipients about this and will expect brief updates as well as, in some cases - depending on the project and if appropriate - receipts and proof of purchase.

Please also be aware that we expect one application per person or group (unless, in exceptional circumstances,  an agreement has been made with CAAT before an application has been submitted) - multiple applications from the same applicant will be queried.

We'll be in touch if we need any clarification or further details, then your proposal will be discussed by our team and we'll be in touch to arrange payment to successful applicants. Please note we will request that you invoice CAAT using a standard invoice template - we will not accept informal notes with bank details.

For any applications for activities connected to anti-DSEI actions, we will ensure the grant amount is with you in August and/ or, if agreed with you, we will reimburse your upfront costs after the DSEI arms fair in September.
