Native Plants for Birds ~ Fall 2019 Program
**If you need any help with completing this application, please feel welcome to call the EYA office at 604-689-4446.**

Join a dedicated group of like-minded youth interested in helping build bird-supporting habitat across Vancouver. Gain hands-on experience working in an organic nursery & greenhouse, learn about our urban ecosystem, get your hands dirty with urban habitat restoration projects and make avians great again!

Upon completion of the program you will earn a small stipend for your time & commitment, gain community service hours towards graduation, and receive a certificate of participation from EYA.

There are 2 opportunities to join this program: As a Program Participant (youth aged 14 - 20) or as a Program Mentor* (youth aged 16-25; either alumni of a past EYA program or older youth with some relevant experience).

FALL PROGRAM DATES: Saturdays from September 14 - November 2 (8 days total)
TIME: 12:30-4:30 pm
LOCATIONS: Strathcona & Cottonwood Community Gardens, local restoration project areas (TBD)

This is a popular program and space is limited, so get your application in early!

*NOTE: Program Mentors will act as leaders during the program, practicing leadership skills and assisting the EYA leaders to deliver the Native Plants for Birds program. Program Mentors will also commit to meeting for 1 leadership training and orientation day at the garden (meeting time TBD before the program starts), as well as a final volunteer session program wrap-up (on the last day of the program).
