Peggy Thompson Award Nominations
In 1989, the LWVMN Board of Directors instituted a new award to be presented to a local League leader recognizing outstanding service to their local League. The first award was given to Peggy Thompson. Because of Peggy’s long commitment to strengthening local Leagues, the award focuses special recognition on League members who, by their sustained efforts, have been instrumental in strengthening and/or stabilizing their local LWVs and affecting their communities through their enthusiasm, motivation of others and innovative ideas.

Criteria for the Award:
1. Outstanding service to LWVMN
2. Instrumental in strengthening or stabilizing local LWV
3. Initiated ideas, activities that have kept/made local LWV strong
4. Use of LWV principles and/or positions as motivation to serve/enhance the local community/citizens
