Story ideas *
Submit two story ideas for an article or photo/video story. Stories should range between 300 to 1,000 words. You will pick one to complete during the workshop. Do not include first-person ideas. List possible sources; you don't need specific names at this point, but mention, for example, that you would need to interview five teenagers, police officials or a doctor. Also list the type of research, such as statistics, you would need. Focus your ideas. For example, instead of a story on gun control think of a story about a specific program or activist who works on the issue. Avoid stories that will require interviews with teachers since they are difficult to reach during the summer. Here are examples of workshop stories: http://bit.ly/2018Mayastory and http://bit.ly/2018Hannahstory. Copy and paste your ideas below or email them to denise.watson@pilotonline.com.
