The AMC-8 is a 25 question, 40 minute multiple choice examination in middle school mathematics containing challenging and interesting problems. Students across the United States and Canada take this contest every year. Any students in grade 8 and below can participate. Calculators are not allowed.
There is no required fee to take the contest at UNC-Chapel Hill; however, a $10 donation to the math department is suggested to help cover the cost of contest materials.
You will receive details by email about 1 or 2 weeks before the contest.
The Art of Problem Solving maintains an extensive collection of old AMC-8 contests at https://artofproblemsolving.com/wiki/index.php?title=AMC_8_Problems_and_Solutions. This is a good place to go for practice problems. Please visit http://amc.maa.org/ or email email@example.com for additional information.
