This summer, ABE-LA will be offering two Professional Development Institutes. The first will be held July 9-13, 2018 from 8am-4pm each day and will take place at The Huntington Library, Art Collections, & Botanical Gardens (1151 Oxford Road, San Marino, CA). The second will be held July 23-27, 2018 from 8am-4pm each day and will take place at Fullerton College (321 E Chapman Ave, Fullerton, CA).

Description: Both workshops will provide teachers with hands-on training on the Complete Genetic Engineering Sequence of the Amgen Biotech Experience curriculum, as well as the Colony PCR lab. Upon completion of all five days of one workshop, teachers will be eligible to order supplies and borrow the equipment needed to run the ABE labs in their own classrooms during the school year, free of charge.

Please note that teachers should only plan to attend one workshop, and the curriculum being taught for each of the workshops is the same. Both workshops are FREE.

Eligibility: Both teachers new to ABE and veteran ABE teachers are welcome to attend either workshop. All participants are required to attend all five days of the workshop.

Application Process: Applications are due by Tuesday, May 8. Applicants will be notified of decisions by email by Wednesday, May 16. The maximum capacity for each workshop is 24 teachers.
