Swathi Thirunal Festival is planned to pay tribute to Maharaja Swathi Thirunal, a brilliant music composer credited with over 500 classical compositions in both Carnatic and Hindustani styles.

Venue: Vihar Hall, Hindu Center, Charlotte, NC
All are invited to register for this event. Dancers are encouraged to perform compositions by Swathi Thirunal, and singers are invited to sing the Maharaja’s beautiful compositions. Each song entry should be limited to 8 minutes for children and 10 minutes for adults. Dance performances should be limited to 10 minutes.
Dancers: If more than 10 minutes are required to accommodate a longer composition, such as a Ragamalika, please email details to swathithirunalfestival@gmail.com.
Please note:
1. Vocal and Instrumental Categories: Compositions cannot be repeated. Once a participant selects a composition, that krithi cannot be performed by another individual/group in the same category.
2. Dance Categories (Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, Mohiniyattam): Compositions can be repeated twice, meaning the same composition can be performed by two participants/groups in the same category.
3. After validation, we will notify/confirm your selection.
4. Entries are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
5. Participation Fee: $20.00 per participant (individual or group).

2. Cash or check payment at the venue on September 28th, 2024.
7. You will be notified of your performance schedule as we get closer to the event date.
