Stories must be an author's original work to be eligible for entry to YAFF 2019 and must not be based or use another author's characters, setting or other work. Only stories deemed to be original work will be entered into the festival.

1st - 5th place stories will be published in the 2019 YAFF Celebration Booklet. The Booklet will be available for purchase after the winners are announced and will be added to the Library collection. If you withhold permission to publish your child's story and they receive a top honor their story will be excluded from the Booklet.
Parents: Do you give permission for the author's photo to be taken at the Festival celebration and possibly used in Festival promotion and information? *
Photos will be taken at the YAFF Celebration Event of the winners, individually and as part of groups.Photos from the event are then published to the American Library in Paris's Flickr page and posted on the Library blog and website. If you withhold permission for your child's photo to be take we will do our best to ensure they are not included in these photos.
To complete the submission process please email your story immediately (after submitting this form) to yaff@americanlibraryinparis.org. Include your name in the subject of the email and send your story in a .doc format. Do NOT include your name anywhere on the story attachment or filename. Unless we receive both the completed form and the emailed story you will not be entered into the Festival.
Once we have received your story via email, the YAFF submissions team will review to ensure your story meets all of the formatting requirements. You may be asked to correct parts of your story if not all submission guidelines were followed. Please check you have followed all the submission guidelines before emailing your story. We will confirm your entry via email within 48 hours of receipt. If you do not receive a confirmation email within this time frame, please contact the YAFF team at yaff@americanlibraryinparis.org as soon as possible. Thank you and good luck! The YAFF Team
