Koinonia Registration 2018-2019
At Prep, we talk a lot about brotherhood. But what does that really mean? How can you find your place in the Prep community? How can you use your gifts and talents to serve others? These are the questions at the heart of the Koinonia retreat.

"Koinonia" is a Greek word meaning "fellowship" or "communion." It appears 20 times in the Bible, and was used by the early Christians to describe their unity with each other and with God. Like those early Christians, the Prep community is made up of many different members, with different backgrounds, passions, and talents. What makes Prep special is that we all come together, "united in spirit" (Phil 2:2), stronger as a community than we could ever be alone.

The Koinonia retreat is a chance for sophomores to reflect on their experience of the Prep brotherhood, and to discover how each individual member is an important part of our community. Retreatants will reflect on these themes through small group discussions, interactions with senior and adult leaders, and participation in a team-building challenge course (safe, fun, and accessible to students of any level of physical ability). Sophomores will leave the retreat with a greater appreciate for the Prep community, and their role in it.

ALL SOPHOMORES MUST REGISTER FOR A KOINONIA RETREAT BY FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 7. Koinonia fulfills the sophomore year retreat requirement, and attendance is mandatory for all members of the Class of 2021.

All Koinonia retreats take place from 8:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m. on Saturdays; there are six total dates throughout the year.
Because this retreat is required for all students, there are no fees or costs attached.
