Essay
You are applying for a Rotary Scholarship. Hood River Rotary is a service organization that does various community service projects and offers scholarships to students seeking a secondary education. To accomplish this, the club holds numerous fund raising events throughout the year. We encourage you to research our local Hood River Rotary Club by coming to a lunch meeting, attending a fundraising event, interviewing a Rotarian and reading our website.
After researching Rotary International and the Hood River Rotary club’s rich history, write a 350 – 500 word essay that keeps the guiding principles of the Rotary organization in mind and addresses how you would employ those principles in running your community if you were given the chance to be “Mayor for a day.” *
This essay question is for current high school students, preparing to go to college.
