Whidbey Island Race Week Survey
How many years have you attended Whidbey Island Race Week?
When you attend Whidbey Island Race Week, where do you and your crew stay? (check all that apply)
In 2018, Whidbey Island Race Week shifted from a 5-day to a 4-day race event Thursday-Sunday. In 2019, it will also be a 4-day race event that runs Wednesday-Saturday. Is the change to a 4-day race event a positive or negative shift for you?
Do you prefer to race PHRF or One Design?
Charlie Macaulay has developed an Actual Performance Handicapping System that is similar to a golf handicap. Such a system tightens corrected finish times and makes it easier for a boat that sails a great race to score in the top three, regardless of their PHRF handicap. How would running such a system (with recognition/awards/trophies) in parallel with standard PHRF handicapping affect your potential participation in Race Week?
Ideally, how many races would be raced each day?
Ideally, would you prefer buoy racing, distance racing or both?
Do you and your crew participate in the post-race parties?
How important is live music to you and your crew at the post-race parties?
How important is it to have dinner options available at the post-race parties?
Would you prefer to buy individual drink tickets at the post-race party or do you prefer to buy the bracelet and have access to an open bar?
How important are morning chalk talks and/or interesting morning or evening seminars or special presentations to you and your crew?
