Instructions
In order to ensure accurate and timely reporting, ALR members should report miles to their Post ALR at least monthly in accordance with their Post ALR guidelines

- Colorado ALR annual reporting requirements
    o Reporting year for Colorado ALR is 1 June to 31 May each year
    o The Post ALR Annual Report must be submitted to the Area Coordinator and State Chair by the end of the first week in June every year.
    o Report data items include:
        ▪ Total (not individual) ALR service miles for the Post ALR program for the year
        ▪ Total (not individual) ALR service hours for the Post ALR program for the year
        ▪ Total (not individual) ALR monies donated by the Post ALR program for the year
        ▪ Number of Post ALR members at the end of reporting period (31 May)
            • Includes all voting members of the Post ALR program per Post ALR Constitution and By-laws (C&B)
            • Can include special class members (retired, supporters) if specified in Post ALR C&B.

- Colorado Miles/Hours Tracking Guidelines
 
   o Mileage guidelines:
        ▪ Miles count as ALR service if you are wearing your vest and/or conducting ALR business, including when you drive a cage for ALR purposes.
        • This can include other events in addition to ride events. Some examples include:
            o Supporting Veteran events in the community
            o Community service as an ALR member (e.g. building a wheelchair ramp, helping with a move, re-roofing a home, or similar)
            o Manning booths for American Legion veteran outreach, community outreach or recruiting
            o Homeless veteran stand-downs
            o Bottom line: Report time spent on setup/take down for or conduct of any event for community or post where you are acting as a representative of your ALR program.
        ▪ Miles start when you depart your home and end when you return home.

    o Hours guidelines:
        ▪ Clock starts when you leave home and ends when you return home.
        ▪ During rides and events while wearing the American Legion Rider emblem, you are acting as a public representative of ALR and the American Legion. You should be setting an example by your conduct at all times and logging that time.This includes all time spent conducing ALR business.
        • Time spent on rides
        • Time ALR members are providing post, public or community service in the capacity of an ALR member.
        • Time that appointed or elected officers spend performing their ALR duties
