Classroom Volunteer Opportunties
Room Coordinator: Assist teachers organize and coordinate events in the classroom throughout the year; send weekly communications to other classroom parents.
Host an 8th Grade Intern at my business/work (February)
Host a classroom pet in our home over a school break (choose from Thanksgiving, Winter, Spring or Summer breaks)
Bead Bank (Children's House): Assist students with math and counting skills.
Sandpaper Letters (Children's House): Assist students with early literacy skills.
Class Reader/Publisher (Elementary)
Annual Fund Committee: Assist in developing marketing materials and excitement around our main fundraising vehicle.
Bernie's Book Bank: Coordinate a volunteer service day for Bernie's Book Bank.
Box Tops for Education: Organize and submit Box Tops twice a year (November and March)
Coat Drive: Assist in gathering and delivering coats to Common Pantry
Common Pantry: Assist students in making and delivering lunches to clients of Common Pantry
Spring Event (March): Annual adults-only fundraiser. There are so many ways to help out - too numerous to put here!
Student Art Project: Our student/parent art program in which each student produces a work of art as part of a school-wide fundraiser.
Back-to-school Picnic (September): Help coordinate potluck; attend the picnic; greet attendees; help with set-up and clean-up.
Pumpkinpalooza (October): Our fun fall festival held here at the school with games, prizes and costumes galore!
Book Fair (November and April): Help set-up/clean-up, sell books, make recommendations.
Grandparents' Day (May): Help set-up the event or volunteer time to help during the event.
End-of-Year Picnic (June): Help coordinate potluck; attend picnic; greet attendees; help set-up and clean-up.
Conference Child Care (November and April): Coordinate sign-ups, supervise children, clean-up/set-up
Hospitality Committee: Provide and/or coordinate snacks and beverages for back to school coffees, parent meetings, and parent coffees.
New Families Mentor: Welcome new families to our community.
Parent Ed Committee: Work with Principal, Children's House and Elementary Program Directors to identify educational opportunities for parents.
Teacher-Staff Love: A group dedicated to giving back to the faculty and staff throughout the year by coordinating appreciation lunches and activities.
Volunteer Engagement: Help make sure parents find the right volunteer opportunities; coordinate with committees for specific volunteer needs.
Basketball: Assistant coaches, coaches, time and score keepers are needed
Cross Country: Assistant coaches and coaches
Track & Field: Assistant coaches and coaches
Volleyball: Assistant coaches and coaches
Carpool/Crossing Guard: Assist children during morning arrival. Must commit to one shift per week for duration of the school year.
Data Entry: Help with back-office work, as needed.
Library Volunteer: Assist students with checking books in and out.
Mailing Assistance: Help with back-office work, as needed.
