Synth Riders™ 80s Mixtape Side B Challenge
1. Overview

To celebrate the release of the Synth Riders™ 80s Mixtape Side B DLC, Kluge Interactive is hosting a skill-based community challenge to inspire creativity and celebrate the 80s! Participants are encouraged to submit videos of themselves playing tracks from the 80s Mixtape Side B DLC, with entries divided into three categories:

  1. Cosplay: Dress up as your favorite artist/band featured in the DLC or embrace general 80s-inspired fashion.

  2. Dance: Showcase your gameplay with skillful moves, rhythm, and flair.

  3. Creative: Use VR or Mixed Reality modes to create something uniquely 80s and original.

This competition aims to engage the Synth Riders community, highlight the new DLC, and have fun with the iconic style and sounds of the 80s!

2. Competition Period

  • Challenge Period: January 10, 2025 – January 20, 2025

  • Submission Deadline: Midnight (PST) on January 20, 2025

  • Winner Announcement: January 24, 2025

3. Eligibility

  • Territories: Global! All are welcome to strut their stuff!

  • Age Requirement: Participants must be at least 18 years old at the time of entry.

  • Restrictions: Employees of Kluge Interactive, their immediate family members, and individuals involved in the development or promotion of this challenge are not eligible to participate.

  • Final Placing: You may enter your video for multiple categories but can only place in the top 3 in one category, preference will be given to the highest place.

4. Submission Guidelines

To enter, participants must:

  1. Submit a video showcasing one of the categories (Cosplay, Dance, or Creative).

  2. Post the video publicly on an accepted social media platform: Facebook, Twitter, Threads, YouTube, TikTok, Twitch, Instagram or BlueSky.

  3. Include the hashtags #SynthRiders and #80sMixtapeChallenge in the post.

  4. Provide the video link via the Google Form below.

Important Submission Rules:

  • Participants may submit only one entry but may nominate their video for multiple categories.

  • Videos must feature tracks from the Synth Riders™ 80s Mixtape Side B DLC.

  • The entrant confirms the work is their original creation, they have secured all necessary rights and permissions, and will cover any losses to the organizer from a breach of these assurances.

  • Generative AI content is not allowed.

  • Content must be appropriate for a general audience. Submissions that are violent, obscene, defamatory, or inappropriate, as determined solely by Kluge Interactive, may be disqualified.

  • Kluge Interactive reserves the right to disqualify entries that do not adhere to these guidelines or are damaging to the Synth Riders or associated brands.

5. Judging Process

Entries will be reviewed by a panel of Kluge Interactive staff:

  • Nick E., Producer

  • Kirk S., Senior Community Manager

  • Vans, Studio Coordinator

  • Wirrel, Technical Producer

Judges will score submissions on a scale of 1-10 based on the following criteria:

  • Cosplay Category:

    • Authenticity: Accuracy and creativity in 80s-inspired outfits or artist/band representation.

    • Visual Impact: Overall presentation and style.

  • Dance Category:

    • Engagement: Energy and presence during the performance.

    • Emotive: Bringing emotion and rhythm to the performance.

  • Creative Category:

    • Originality: Innovative use of VR/MR modes or unique approaches.

    • Execution: Quality and integration of VR/MR elements or creative techniques.

In case of a tie, the submission with the highest originality score will be given preference.

6. Prizes

Category Winners (1 per category):

  • $100 Amazon Gift Card (or equivalent)

  • Complete Synth Riders DLC Collection on a platform of choice

2nd Place in Each Category:

  • $50 Amazon Gift Card (or equivalent)

  • Complete Synth Riders DLC Collection on a platform of choice

3rd Place in Each Category:

  • Complete Synth Riders DLC Collection on a platform of choice

7. Winner Notification

Winners will be contacted via the email provided on the Google Form. Winners must verify ownership of their submission and confirm prize eligibility within 96 hours of contact.

8. Data Collection

  • Data collected for this challenge will solely be used for administering the competition and will not be retained or used for marketing purposes.

  • All collected data will be destroyed after the conclusion of the competition.

This competition is sponsored solely by Kluge Interactive and is not associated with or endorsed by any platform or artist.
