Building Nations Initiative –BNI (formerly Better Nigeria Initiative) is a youth-led youth work and community development association that is committed to strengthening communities through the education, empowerment and engagement of young people as change agents in their respective communities.


Vision: To raise a new generation of young people as builder of a better society.

Mission Statement: To be a leading platform for positive development of young people.

Role Summary:

To strengthen BNI’s youth work and community development engagement, applications for membership are now open for young people age 18 to 35 years to join either our campus chapters or community networks. Members upon induction will be deployed to respective working groups and committees of the organisation where they will work with teams of young people to implement youth work and community development initiatives in respective host campuses and communities.

Campus Network:
Undergraduate students are welcomed to join our respective campus chapters in the following Universities.
1. University of Ibadan, Nigeria
2. University of Lagos, Nigeria
3. Obafemi Awolowo University Ile Ife, Nigeria
4. Ekiti State University Ado-Ekiti, Nigeria
5. Federal University of Technology Akure, Nigeria
6. Federal University Oye-Ekiti, Nigeria
7. Universite d’Abomey Calavi, Benin Republic
8. University of Ghana, Legon, Ghana
9. Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration GIMPA Accra, Nigeria

Prospective campus members must demonstrate interest in sustainable development practice and be committed to the vision, mission and core values of the Organisation. He/She must show positive attitude to personal development through learning, mentorship, and skills development.
