Fall 2024 WSU Marching Band Intent Form
Hello everyone, and welcome to the 2024 edition of the Shocker Sound Machine Marching Band here at Wichita State University! We are extremely excited to see all of you! We have some awesome events planned for the ensemble this coming season, and we look forward to continuing to grow as Wichita's premiere indoor/outdoor marching ensemble!

Please fill out this form so that we can get you locked in to our roster for the fall season!

AUDITIONS!!! 
I do not currently perform traditional auditions - I want all that wish to be involved right here with us! No need to worry if you have never marched before either, we take the time during our band camp to teach our movement basics, show music, traditional tunes and cheers, and work to develop our sound into the biggest in the land! We will do part placements during camp, but if you have experience on a particular part and would like to continue working towards that (i.e. lead trumpet, cymbals, etc.) then please let me know in this form and I will take that into consideration as we build the squad! This form will stay open to membership prospects until the first day of camp, August 12 2024.

Music will be made available at the end of March and will include;
- Cheers and chants
- Show Music
- Preliminary pep band set list and chart access

Drumline will meet 3 times during the summer months to begin preparing instruments, cadences, and show tunes. Those dates are;
May 31 - 9a-3p - Duerksen Fine Arts Center
June 28 - 9a-3p - Duerksen Fine Arts Center
July 26 - 9a-3p - Duerksen Fine Arts Center

These dates are HIGHLY ENCOURAGED so we can get a bead on our personnel!
 
FULL BAND CAMP will occur from August 12-16 8a-6p and is required for all members. We will use this time to get familiar with gear needs, show materials, Music and Movement basics, and get ourselves cooking so we can hit the ground running at the top of the semester!!
