Workshop Overview
The Faculty Development Workshop is a 2.5-day training focused on the fundamentals of curriculum design and facilitation. Participants will learn how to:
- Conduct needs assessments
- Write clear learning objectives
- Design engaging and accessible activities
- Structure curriculum content effectively
- Apply adult learning principles
- Address common facilitation challenges
Throughout the workshop, participants will work in teams of 2–3 to design a 30-minute curriculum segment. On the final day, each team will present their segment and receive peer feedback.
Format
The workshop combines presentations, group discussions, and hands-on practice. Participants will apply what they learn by developing and facilitating a short curriculum segment in a supportive, collaborative environment.
Eligibility
- Open to Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) grantees and potential grantees
- Intended for educators, trainers, instructional designers, and others responsible for adult education and training
- Applicants must apply in teams of 2–3 individuals -- each person needs to submit their own application
Cost and Logistics
- The workshop is provided free of charge
- Participants are responsible for their own meals, lodging, and travel costs
- If you are attending with OVW travel funds, you
must follow the per diem rate ($196) for lodging in Washington D.C. We will send more
information regarding the recommended hotel with your acceptance.
- Do not book travel until you receive confirmation of acceptance
Application Process- Deadline: September 24th
- Notifications: September 26th
- Priority will be given to: 1.) Applicants directly responsible for adult education and training design; 2.) Teams of three - everyone must submit their own application.
