Registration - Advocates in Action Training

A training series for anyone who wants to advocate for food access programs & share their experiences to ignite positive change.

Open to anyone in the Southern Tier. Those with firsthand experience with food insecurity are especially encouraged to attend.

Attend one or all four! Participants who attend all four trainings (or watch the recordings and complete the assessment) and have firsthand experience with food insecurity are eligible to join the Community Advocates Program.

TRAINING DESCRIPTIONS:

Intro to Advocacy

The first step to being a civically engaged community member is to vote. Learn how to get all the information you need to successfully vote yourself, and how to help your friends & neighbors vote. Then, take it to the next level and learn how to talk with and influence your elected officials.

Trauma Informed Care

At least 70% of adults in the US have experienced trauma. Learn best practices for building trust & relationships in this context while helping those with firsthand experience in food insecurity claim their power.
