CELS Tell Your Teaching Story - August 28, 2024
Telling your teaching story
Have your ever had writer's block surrounding your teaching statement for your dossier? What does teaching effectiveness mean, anyway? Is it just IDEA scores?

We all know that you are more than your IDEA scores. In this session, participants will hear from their peers about their experience and explore research-backed criteria for teaching effectiveness. Then they will practice connecting those criteria to their experience and explore evidence they can use to document their increased effectiveness. Most importantly, participants will overcome writer’s block regarding their teaching statement.

Date, Time, Location: Wednesday, August 28, 2024, 1pm-3pm, CBLS 435

Outcomes:
  • Explore research-backed criteria relating to "teaching effectiveness."
  • Apply criteria to classroom experience.
  • Connect experience to evidence and explore ways to narrate growth in the classroom.
You will be sent a Google calendar invite for your selection(s). Questions or comments? Reach out to Dr. Todd Dresser, Associate Director of ATL Faculty Development, at todd_dresser@uri.eduear
