Agroforestry and Climate Resilience: Challenges and Opportunities
Hawaiʻi Climate Week 2024 brings together multiple organizations to convene a set of events and activities focused on climate change in  Hawaiʻi. This year’s Climate Conference at the Imin Conference Center is a collaboration between the USDA Southwest Climate Hub,  UH Mānoa CTAHR, US Global Change Research Program, CCMAC, the University of Hawaiʻi Sea Grant, PI-CASC, and the East-West Center. A full list of events can be found on the Climate Commission's Climate Change Portal.

As a part of these events, the College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, and the USDA Southwest Climate Hub are hosting a session on agroforestry and climate resilience. This session brings together a diverse group of practitioners, agency representatives, academics, and students to explore the role of agroforestry in climate change resilience. Participants and attendees will have the opportunity to engage with a series of talks and panel discussions designed to help diverse stakeholders better understand the challenges and opportunities at the intersection of climate and agroforestry. From the Keynote with Dr. Noa Kekuewa Lincoln, to a series of talks on agroforestry and community, to interactive panel discussions with producers, and agency representatives, around challenges and opportunities to implementation, this event aims to be a gathering for those interested and practicing agroforestry and committed to food security and sovereignty. Please join us as we explore practical strategies, share innovative solutions, and foster collaborations that aim to enhance health and community well-being in the face of climate challenges in Hawaiʻi.
