We’re working on a new product: a how-to app from The New York Times for Kids. We need curious, opinionated kids who live in the United States and have access to an iPad to test an early version of our app. (We think kids ages 8 to 12 will enjoy this app most.)

Here’s what participation would mean for you and your kid(s): For a period of three to four months, starting in November, December, or January, you would be given access to NYT How To, an app that's chock-full of a wide variety of how-tos — everything from designing an escape room to befriending a crow.

During that time, we’d ask that your kid(s) use the app as much or as little as they want and then we'll ask you to tell us what they think. We hope to understand what they gravitate toward most, and we'll also send occasional surveys and conduct optional hour-long research interviews.

To sign up, please fill out the following form. By submitting your information here, you agree that if selected, we can email you throughout the Beta period regarding the app and research related to the app.
