ANNIE: Theater Technician Sign-Up Form 
Thank you for your interest in becoming a technician for the KMS Winter Musical, ANNIE! 
Mrs. Flahiff will create the assignments based on the interest you show in this survey. 

This form is DUE FRIDAY, September 19th

Participation is NO CUT which means that everyone who applies will be  placed in a technician role.

Rehearsals well be after school, Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Friday from 2:35 - 4:30. Students must provide their own transportation home at 4:30. 

Technician will start at different times depending on their role.

TECHNICAL THEATER JOBS
  • RUNNING CREW

    • Stage Manager: Team leader of the whole technical crew. Calls the light and sound cues and attends all rehearsals. Is seated with the Light and Sound Operators in the audience during the show. Reports to the Director.

    • Assistant Stage Managers (2): Team leader backstage who organizes the Deck Techs who move the set. Is backstage during the show. Reports to the Stage Manager.

    • Light Board Operators (2): Controls the lights during the show. Comes to rehearsal during tech week. Reports to the Stage Manager.

    • Spotlight Operators (2)Controls the spot lights during the show. Comes to rehearsal during tech week. Reports to the Stage Manager.

    • Sound Board Operators (2): Controls the recorded music tracks or the soundboard/ microphone during the show. Attends all rehearsals. Reports to the Stage Manager

    • Props Head: Team Leader in charge of all things carried by actors on stage and organized the Props Techs. Reports to the Assistant Stage Managers.

    • Props Technician: Organizing the props backstage and makes sure they are ready and returned. Reports to the Props Master.

    • Deck Technicians: Performs set changes during the show. Is backstage during the show. Reports to the Assistant Stage Managers.

    • Hair and Make-up Head: Team leader backstage who oversees the application of make-up and oversees the Make-up Techs. Reports to the Assistant Stage Managers.

    • Hair and Make-up Technicians: Applies make-up before and during the show. Reports to the Make-up Head.

    • Costume Head: Team leader backstage who oversees the costumes and quick changes and oversees the Costume Techs. Reports to the Assistant Stage Managers.

    • Costume Technicians: Organizes costumes and assists in quick changes. Reports to the Costume Head.

    • House Manager: Team leader in charge of the audience and the Ushers. Reports to the Director. Does NOT come to rehearsals, only the night of the performances.

    • Ushers: Hands out programs and direct people to their seats during the performances. Reports to the House Manager. Does NOT come to rehearsals, only the night of the performances.

  • WORK WITH THE DIRECTOR - AT A REHEARSAL OR INDEPENDENTLY

    • Publicity Crew: Distribute posters on campus and to our feeder elementary schools. Reports to the Director

    • Program: Collect and edit cast and crew biographies for the program. Reports to the Director.

What experience do you have with any of the areas that interest you? If applying for a Team Head what leadership experience do you have? (Don't worry, none is necessary!)
If you are applying for Stage Manager, Assistant Stage Manager, or Sound Technician are you able to attend after school rehearsals M/T/Th/F, beginning November 4th(not including holidays)? If not, what are your conflicts?

Thank you for applying! As different roles have different timelines, once you are assigned I will let you know when to start coming to rehearsals.

Once you are signed up you will be added to the Schoology group where you will find the script, accompaniment tracks, a video of the production, and the full rehearsal schedule. Read the script, and get familiar with the show.
