CGSC Membership Application

Thank you for your interest in joining CGSC. We consider the following when reviewing all applications:

  • an applicant’s commitment to supporting the CGSC’s official mission to “Encourage the amateur sport of sailing, seamanship, instruction, racing, and cruising”
  • our capacity to expand our current membership roster

Please complete the following application carefully, and we hope to welcome you to the club Where Sailors Belong.  

All applications are reviewed by a diverse committee of CGSC members. To ensure that your application is looked upon favorably, please consider the various ways that you can show active involvement at CGSC. Volunteer opportunities are here and classes are listed here. You don't need to be a member or have experience to be involved! And, involvement is key to becoming a new member.

The CGSC allows Regular, Service, and Non-Resident members to extend their Club privileges to a spouse or domestic partner (see below), and to children who are under 21 years old. If you would like to extend Club privileges to anyone who fits these criteria, please list their names below. Please note that you are responsible for any charges incurred by anyone listed below. 
AUTHORIZED USERS: If you have a spouse or domestic partner, please share their name and age here.

Note on domestic partners: The CGSC uses the same criteria as the City of Miami does for recognizing domestic partnerships. Please list only someone you’re in a relationship with, and with whom you share your primary residence. The CGSC does not require domestic partnerships to be registered. 

If you have children between ages 6-21, please list their names and ages here.

PAYMENT METHOD - For your convenience, CGSC offers the Auto-Pay program. Choose from ACH debits from your checking or savings account by providing your bank’s routing number and your account number below, or pay with a credit card. Please note that ACH helps keep club costs low. 

There is a monthly $8.00 processing fee if paying with a credit card. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, & Discover cards. Should you participate in Auto-Pay, you will receive your invoice on the 1st each month, and your bank account or credit card will be charged between the 15th and 20th of each month. You may also pay with a credit card online, or in person with a check, money order, or cash before the 15th of each month to avoid finance charges. 

If accepted as a member you will be provided with a charge authorization form.

Note: There must be a credit card kept on record even if you choose not to participate in Auto-Pay.

INVOLVEMENT

The mission of the Coconut Grove Sailing Club is to encourage the sport of sailing; to promote the science of seamanship and navigation; to sponsor cruises, races and instructional classes; and to foster a spirit of cooperation and good fellowship. We rely on volunteers to further that mission, and getting involved early is probably the best way to make the most of your CGSC membership. Below are some of our most popular volunteer opportunities. Select what interests you, and we’ll have the appropriate committee chair contact you with more information.

We're always looking for sailing coaches and instructors! Do you have graphic design, website design, or social media experience? Are you great at managing events? Please share any skills that may help our organization flourish.
Do you own or work for a company that might be benefit from the promotional opportunity of sponsoring a regatta or event?
