Snyder County Libraries has been providing a wide range of services and library materials to our community for over 80 years! This year, we will be spending $53,280 on new books, DVDs, magazines, and other materials. Many people don't have a computer, Internet, or printer, and we provide access to each of these services. We also offer a variety of programs for all ages, such as Mother Goose on the Loose, story times, book clubs, digital art classes, and our summer reading program.
The only way we can do all of this is with your support. It costs over $440,000 annually to keep the libraries open and to serve all who enter our doors. With the Library Lanterns fundraiser, our goal is to raise $30,000.
To show our gratitude for supporting Snyder County Libraries, we are going to do something special for our donors this year. Donors’ names will be displayed on decorative lanterns of varying sizes based upon donation amounts. In celebration of our donor’s generosity, these lanterns will be hung in the Rudy Gelnett Memorial Library’s central stairwell, as well as other visible areas in the Branch Libraries, where they may be enjoyed and appreciated by all library visitors. The lanterns also offer an opportunity to honor or memorialize loved ones or to simply share your personal support for our libraries. Thank you for helping our libraries to shine.
