We will seek further information if applicable, from witnesses, first aiders or managers, to support the disclosure reporting process. Data will be stored electronically on the Church’s IT systems (including email) and paper versions in a locked filing cabinet.
The lawful basis for collecting this data, including information on health (special category data), is the legal obligation to comply with employment, social security and social protection law (see www.hse.gov.uk) under safeguarding. We also process your information under the lawful basis of legitimate interests to ensure a safe church environment. For safeguarding disclosures, data is held for up 75 years and significant observations data for 1 year.
Your data may be shared internally for the purposes of internal health and safety and safeguarding monitoring and compliance. This includes staff working in Senior Leadership, trustees and HR functions. Your data may be shared externally for the purposes of health and safety and safeguarding legislative compliance or on the request of staff, statutory authorities (e.g. Police, Social Services) or other appointed legal counsel.
