10:45 #VotePublic workshop: How to do nonpartisan education advocacy in a hyperpartisan election year
Workshop includes both small and large group discussion with even more very special guests!

Part I (10:45-11:15): TOWNHALL FISHBOWL --- So you want to hold a candidate forum....what could go wrong? with special guests RANDY BRYCE, candidate for the 1st Congressional District, US Congress and DENNIS McBRIDE, candidate for the Wisconsin State Assembly District 13 (representing Elm Grove and parts of Wauwatosa, Milwaukee, West Allis and Brookfield). These two pro-public candidates (and good sports) will help us model strategies for running or participating in effective town halls or candidate forums.

Part II (11:15-11:45): BEST GOTV PRACTICES BREAKDOWN BREAKOUT - small group brainstorm activities guided by experience organizers on the topic of how to most effectively.... Create a Nonpartisan Voter Guide - Plan and Run a Town Hall or Candidate Forum - Support a School Referenda - Plan a Postcard Campaign - GOTV with Good Old Fashioned Door Knocking

Guiding Questions: How can we collaborate to make public education a focus of the fall and gubernatorial elections? How can we REALLY know where the candidates stand on school funding and education policy, and how do we best share this info with voters? How can we hold elected officials accountable at the ballot box? What are best practices for grassroots GOTV campaigns? How do we do all this without being partisan?
