The Fred Lewis Scholarship was established in 2003 by a committee of community members, residents, and former students to recognize the contributions made by Fred Lewis. Fred Lewis was the band director to the students of Bensenville and Wood Dale at Fenton High School for 45 years.

Each year, a $750 scholarship will be awarded to a Fenton High school senior who meets the following minimum requirements:

A 2.50 cumulative GPA or higher
At least two years of band at FHS
Enrollment at an institution of higher education in the field of music

In addition, candidates will be evaluated on:

Their participation in the band program and other musical activities
A letter of recommendation from someone other than the Band Director

2.  Provide a hard copy to Ms. McDougal in the counseling office
3. Let Ms. McDougal know which letter in Cialfo you would like her to use
