The project is funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida).
Under output 1.1 “Existing forest related data in the sub-region is assessed and new data is generated to cover critical data gaps on forest status and dynamics”, one deliverable of the project is concerned with undertaking forest and land use/land cover change analysis using remote sensing/GIS technology. FAO has developed within the OpenForis initiative (
www.openforis.org) a variety of free and open source technical solutions such as Collect Earth, Collect Earth Online or SEPAL, as well as standards like the Land Cover Meta-Language (LCML-LCCS) to assist countries in their efforts to measure, monitor and report on their forests. In order to help us better design a capacity building programme, we will need to assess your level of mastery of those tools.
