Request for a Zone-Transfer or Non-Resident Enrollment
Dear Parent/Guardian,

Thank you for your interest in attending Giles County Public Schools.  This application should be submitted by the parent/guardian of any student seeking to attend a GCPS school outside of his/her attendance zone or by parents/guardians of any non Giles County resident.  This application should be completed for first time applicants and those seeking to renew prior requests.

Transfer approval is dependent on many factors including, but not limited to, (1) capacity and enrollment at the receiving school, (2) program availability, (3) the student's attendance, academic, and disciplinary record, and (3) compliance with all GCPS School Board policies and procedures.

All transfer approvals are granted on a one-year basis.  Non-resident students are subject to a tuition charge of $100.00 annually.  Tuition payment should be made at the enrolling school after notification of acceptance is received.

For any new, non-resident application, the parent/guardian is asked to provide the receiving school with a copy of (1) the student's most recent report card, (2) prior attendance records, and (3) discipline records.  This information will be considered prior to the application being considered for approval.

Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact a central office administrator by calling 540-921-1421.

Thank you!
