Iconic Italian brand Fiorucci proudly announces the opening of Circolo UltraFiorucci, its new cultural space at Via Lomazzo 19, Milan. The inaugural event features MARKET, an exclusive exhibition by acclaimed Australian artist Thomas Jeppe, curated by The Community.
About the Exhibition — MARKET by Thomas Jeppe
MARKET unfolds as a large-scale installation blending painting, photography, video, and sound. Rooted in the artist’s signature engagement with sociocultural tropes, the exhibition transforms the gallery into a marketplace of visual and auditory interactions.
The exhibition features four market stalls presenting the multi-channel video 2am Runway, a reflection on nighttime rhythms and the interplay of anonymity and spectacle. Juxtaposed with these are new paintings from Jeppe’s ongoing series Tumult, depicting fragmented skies from recent news imagery. These atmospheric works are displayed on top of wall-sized posters of Parisian nocturnal street scenes, creating a dialogue between global turbulence and local intimacy.
The installation is accompanied by a soundtrack composed by French musician Philippe Hallais (aka Low Jack), immersing viewers in Jeppe’s hallucinatory vision of cosmopolitan affairs.
