Appalachian Trail Community™ Supporter Application
The Appalachian Trail Conservancy (ATC), as part of the Appalachian Trail Community™ program, wants to highlight organizations and businesses that provide support to the hiking community, the Appalachian Trail (A.T.) and/or the ATC by recognizing participating entities as “A.T. Community™ Supporters.”

Show your support of the A.T., the local maintaining club, the ATC and/or the A.T. Community™. Help us build public awareness about the significant resources and economic opportunities the Appalachian National Scenic Trail brings to A.T. Communities, which will leverage and strengthen our ability to protect it.

ATC provides several benefits to recognized Supporters, including:
- Hotlink from A.T. Community™ webpage
- Recognition in electronic media – e.g. e-news
- Electronic version of Appalachian Trail Journeys (ATJ), our bimonthly magazine
- Discounts on ads in ATJ
- Appalachian Trail Community™ Supporter storefront decal
- Press release template for A.T. Community™ Committee to release locally
- A.T./ATC maps and membership brochures to give out to customers/visitors
- Social media promotion
- ATC branding privileges and logo usage

Process for Application:
The following application should be filled out with or by your A.T. Community™ Advisory Committee. If you need assistance finding contacts for your local committee, contact Once received, the ATC will prepare a recognition certificate for the Advisory Committee to award and coordinate other benefits associated with being recognized as an A.T. Community™ Supporter. Please provide at least one month for ATC to process applications.

Examples: Offer discounts to hikers or give-back options to ATC/club on lodging, food, or other services; Provide shuttle service for an extended period (over one year); Provide hikers with free internet service, access to books, etc.; Support local A.T. maintaining club; Support educational programming for schools or youth-serving organizations; Promote participation with local hiking club and ATC; Provide in-kind services on developing information about the A.T. for tourists and hikers; Participate in ATC’s Lodging Give Back program (*contact Chris Blosser for more info) or provides % of profits back to ATC for volunteer programs; Provide mail drop service; etc.
