"Thrift Store Runway" Team Application
On October 13th at Trim Tab Brewing Company, Bib & Tucker Sew Op will host "Thrift Store Runway", a participatory event in which teams will be challenged to make purchases under a certain budget, hand their items over to their assigned seamstress (who will sew together an outfit, given certain guidelines), and then dress their assigned model in that outfit. A panel of judges will determine the best outfit, and the winning team will be awarded lavish prizes.

Why are we doing this? Because it's a fundraising event for the Bib & Tucker Sew Op, Birmingham's Community Sewing Room.

The mission of Bib & Tucker is to cultivate skills and community for those who sew or want to sew (ages 9-99) where everyone can be both a teacher and a student.

The Sew-Op hopes to facilitate a sewing-based cottage industry that provides income and flexible working conditions for women who head their households.

Bib & Tucker is a 501c3 non-profit organization, ans is funded through grants and charitable contributions.

Each of our 8 teams will have 5 members, and each team will pay a $200 registration fee for participation in the event, which will go directly toward supporting the programs offered by Bib & Tucker.
