We are looking for those community leaders that are committed to training and supporting pedestrian and bicycle safety in our communities. We further want those willing to partners with community staff and leaders to provide outreach and help us reduce the unacceptably high number of pedestrian and bicycling deaths in Northern Virginia. In exchange for this free training, with a value of $500, you will commit to at least 2 community outreach events free of charge, and will continue to collaborate with regional safety partners in the future.
This training offers you the opportunity to charge $50/hour to teach bicycling and safety outreach upon completion.
By registering for this training, you are sharing your availability, interest, and commitment to the project and required outreach. Your application will be reviewed by the organizers, and we will contact you with your acceptance. Factors we are looking for are an ability to ride, a commitment to community, interest in outreach and teaching, and preferably second language abilities and comfort working with different people in small groups and one-on-one.
